R. Barrett Noone, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and he completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Long involved in academic surgery, he is Clinical Professor of Surgery at Penn and throughout his career he directed the residency affiliation between Penn and Main Line Health in plastic surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Noone serves as Executive Directory of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His contributions to plastic surgery have been recognized with two lifetime achievement awards:
- The Special Achievement Award of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2012
- The Honorary Award from the American Association of Plastic Surgeons in 2013.

Dr. Noone has served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital, Bryn Mawr Hospital and Lankenau Hospital, and was Chair of the Department of Surgery at Bryn Mawr Hospital for the 10 year period 1991-2001. He remains in the active practice of plastic surgery at Main Line Health.
